Blooming from the Mud
My Interview on the "Books to Better Your Life" Podcast
Hello dear readers,
I have some exciting news to share with you all! I recently had the profound pleasure of being interviewed by the insightful Anne Brinkman, PCC, for her “Books to Better Your Life” podcast. It was an honor to sit down with Anne and delve into the themes that are so central to my work, my book, and indeed, to the very philosophy behind Padma Life Coaching.
The Lotus and Our Life’s Journey
Many of you know how deeply the metaphor of the lotus resonates with me, and why it’s at the heart of Padma Life Coaching. This week’s podcast episode, titled “and the Lotus Opened with Marie O’Neill,” allowed me to explore this idea even further.
Life, as we all experience, is often messy, uncomfortable, and undeniably painful. We face traumas, navigate complex emotions, and sometimes feel utterly lost in the “mud and muck.” Yet, it is precisely from this rich, fertile ground that the most exquisite beauty can emerge. The lotus needs the mud to grow; it cannot blossom in clean water. This powerful truth is a guiding light in my own life and in the work I do with clients.
A Conversation on Transformation and Inner Power
During our conversation, Anne and I explored my personal journey of transformation – from the depths of trauma to the rediscovery of self. We spoke about the healing embrace of nature and the profound wisdom found within the divine feminine, and how these forces have been instrumental in my path towards freedom and personal power.
What I particularly appreciated about our discussion was Anne’s openness, even admitting she doesn’t consider herself a “spiritual person.” Yet, the conversation unfolded in a way that truly opened the door to how spirituality and connection can manifest differently for each of us, and the myriad places we can find inspiration for our own growth. It’s not about adherence to a specific doctrine but about finding what nourishes your soul and empowers your spirit.
Why This Episode Matters to Me (and Maybe to You!)
For those of you who follow my work, you know that I believe everyone holds an innate capacity for resilience and self-healing. This podcast interview is a testament to that belief. It’s a reminder that no matter what challenges life throws our way, personal freedom and profound inner power are always within reach. It’s about finding clarity in the chaos, peace in the struggle, and beauty in the brokenness.
I invite you to listen to this episode with an open heart and mind. Perhaps you’ll find a piece of your own story reflected in mine or discover a new perspective that sparks your own transformation.
